  Is there any way to send photos or am I just a dummy when it comes to this app? I feel like the ability to send photos would allow folks to share without giving out actual phone numbers if they’re not comfortable with that. Talked to a couple of matches that didn’t like giving phone number but still wanted to see things (not gross stuff), but photos of kids/dogs/car/etc.

  So no one wants to see the inappropriate certainly. But if you choose to engage in a video chat or sending pics back and forth in an app like this you assume some risk. On the other hand if it’s recorded on the back end wouldn’t that be a good way of weeding out the porn peddlers, the massage/prostitution types, the advertising & commercially motivated, the swindler & the con. Plus the creepy & gross women & men who are interested in the carnal & ills of those who are devilish or worldly.
  
  I think this policy of a recorded exchange would help those who don’t want to give out personal social media or personal contact info.Plus if you are doing your due diligence as a company your trying to keep us safe monitoring IP addresses and the like; but also giving us greater freedom to engage in a way we want while allowing us to scrape off the scum that’s the best policy. There maybe a lot of scum in the world; but I think we acknowledge that by engaging in it.Throw away & heed not the scum.

  For the record, sending photos is a great idea, as well as sending videos! I am a web developer and I can already say to anyone that is wondering about the risk for unwanted inappropriate material that it's super easy to use APIs with strong AI (Google Cloud Vision for one) to detect racy or explicit content with super impressive accuracy. I use it at a little startup of mine (Photohive.pro) all the time. That way nobody has to worry about crap in their messages anyway. It's only a question of whether you want to have more personal contact with people from the chats.

  Agree with everyone who wants to send fun photos - a picture is worth a thousand words! If someone unexpectedly sends an inappropriate photo you can just block+report. It would be nice to have the option even if you're not ready to share phone numbers yet.

  Yes!! I approve of this so much! I constantly end up having to use FB messenger bc I hate & don’t use social media (I actually don’t even touch FB anymore really just messenger) and I don't want to give out my phone number. It’s really easy to pass phone numbers on to spam callers or something.

  Even as a guy, I know this is a terrible idea. Too much opportunity to send inappropriate photos. That can all happen once you swap phone numbers. It's sad that even on this site, photos could be abused. If people really want it to be an option in this app, I would think every photo would need to be screened before it gets sent along.

  I like the idea of sending photos in messages. I know other dating apps allow this and I have never encountered anything inappropriate. Not to say that isn't a risk.

  Make this an opt-in feature, so if someone doesn't want to receive photos in chat they won't be able to send or receive photos, but if they want to be able to share photos, they can opt-in to sharing photos in chat.
  
  It is a best of both worlds solution.

  I like the fact that you can’t send pics. Seems like it would discourage the wrong kind of guys from joining. It’s hard enough already to find the right kind of guy, even with the excellent filters.

  As long as there’s some sort of AI or software to auto filter and report inappropriate images, I’d love a photo sending option so I’m not forced to share personal contact info before sending pictures

  Much better to get inappropriate pics in an app where it can be reported and taken care of, rather than after you've exchanged more personal info, don't you think? Pics in chats is a no brainer for a dating app.

  The only way to make this safe/appropriate for app users is to allow a Mutual team member to approve a picture before it is received and a 0 tolerance rule for violating the rules and you lose picture sending privileges.

  I hear people’s concern about not wanting inappropriate pics. Maybe this?: create an option to accept pictures? So unsolicited pictures aren’t sent but also if users want to exchange photos without giving out more info, that becomes an option? There may still be a risk of inappropriate photos, but could possibly decrease them?
