I think this along with how old the kids are would be perfect. Allow people to see how many kids and the age range the kids are in. For instance they could put they have 4 kids and then add an age range from a double sided slider to indicate the range of all the kids ages 2-8 or 1-10 or 4-6 and if there is only one kid they can put an exact age or range depending on how much info they wish to share.

I agree with this. It's always so awkward when you're talking to a person and it comes out that they have a whole gaggle of kids when you have none; especially when it turns out those kids are preteens and/or teenagers. It's dishonest not to disclose that information from the beginning. Plus, not everyone wants to date a single parent or take on the stepparent life; that is absolutely all right. People who are single parents can still find someone who is open to that life without deceiving other people.

I was coming here to suggest this! I’ve had to tell two women that it wouldn’t work between us because I had no idea how many kids they had until I felt comfortable enough to ask. I have three. If the woman has 1 maybe 2 I think I could handle it as long as they’re 10+ years old. The first one had 6 and the 2nd had 4. Neither had any pictures or write up of their kids. I feel like it ended up wasting my time and theirs and I probably hurt their feelings when I told them a relationship wouldn’t work. All of that could be avoided by having to specify how many kids and saying how many are in nursery, primary, YM/YW, 18+ (if still living at home) or not at home. Disclosing information like this would be to everyone’s advantage because the truth will come out sooner or later, if it’s right away at least you’ll know that whoever is swiping up on you is not only okay with your situation but willing to work with it.
