Require Sending a Note or Comment to Like
To make swiping more intentional, make it so you have to send a note or leave a comment on something to send a like. This would make people self impose swiping limits and increase connection rather than just swiping mindlessly. This also would make it so sending notes is more normal and natural. On other apps like hinge, where leaving comments is as common as just a like, you get so much more conversation and connection than on swiping apps

Lakyn Smith MergedInstead of swiping make it so the person has to like or comment on their account in order to match. This would force people to actually look at the account, encourage conversation, and keep people from being only judged on appearance.

Jon WoodwardI do not like the requirement to send a note a requirement under the current design because you can put a lot of effort into being cheeky or observant and most do not respond.
This means a lot of wasted effort. The send a note feature accomplishes this to some extent. If people are more likely to match with a note then the system needs to be adapted so only the more active users are making it into the feeds. -
