Communities
Allow people to create groups or communities. (stakes maybe?) that others can join. These communities would allow people who joined to match with others in the community and would act as a sort of additional filter. Maybe certain communities are geo-fenced or have passwords or approvals?
For example, someone could join 'BYU Idaho' and would only be able to join there if they are within 25 miles... Or if you tried to join a "45-60 LDS Singles" group, you would have to be approved possibly by an admin or something of the group...
Or they could be just locations around the world that anyone can join to meet others. Kinda like a more static version of ward hop that includes more hotspot locations than just Provo, Rexburg, etc.

GusMore than this why not create groups based on geolocation for hobbies and interest to participate in group events. With no exchange of money to another user as a prerequisite. Hey I wouldn’t mind taking a hike with others in the area or something similar but I don’t want to pay Joe or Jill x dollars to organize it. If on the other hand the group is a cinephile or movie group I don’t mind paying Theater XYZ; but Joe and Jill group founders/members/organizers aren’t getting a kick back. A dinner party where we cook something as a group great; but again no one makes a profit of of an activity. Facebook is now doing something similar but it’s sloppy and poorly implemented in my opinion. With a lot of groups looking for member dues and cash.
Because MutualDates is a thing if $$ needs to be raised for a bigger or more costly event having it managed more like a GoFundMe type expenditure would be preferred. So MutualDates how about a cruise or activity like snorkeling the Bahamas.
