Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, other?
Not everyone is from the US so having only those is super restrictive to literally all the other countries
I agree with Elenna, this feature would only really be relevant to US users. They're the only country I know of that feel the need to align themselves with a specific political party. For the rest of us, political views are so much more complex than those black and white (or in this case red and blue) labels can express.
It’s a good idea. If people from other countries don’t want to use it. Guess what. They don’t have to.
Then let's cut to left, right or central. These are universal.
Maybe not a filter, but just an optional open ended questions (like mission or work). Then it's usuable worldwide or can be ignored if not applicable. Red/blue/other is too black and white and doesn't always convey a person's true stance. But I do believe the optional field is useful that way if someone mentions the opposite of me, I can swipe and move on
Maybe ultra conservative, conservative neutral, liberal, extreme liberal
Please add this. I use other apps 10x as often because I can filter politics no matter where they live
They have tags for this
Should be an optional criteria. People passionate about it will use it and indicate where they stand.
Add a spot in the bio for political affiliation.
I initially upvoted, but after thinking about it, I don't feel its necessary. If people are really passionate about their stance, they put it in their bio.

An option to put your political preference and how important it is to you to match with someone who agrees with you politically

Adding an open ended space like the mission/work answers is a good idea. It would mean everyone, no matter what country they’re in, could answer if they want. I would save so much time, instead of having to ask how they feel about the last election.
While this question really is only applicable to those in the US, I would still like it because most American Latter-day Saints are Republican and I am looking for someone who shares similar values as me beyond simply being LDS. I’m Latina and some of the racist attitudes on the American political right are rather unsettling. I want to be with someone I can feel safe with.
It would be nice as a ***filter*** because dudes don’t read my bio. They swipe up and then get all crazy offended when they see the word liberal and Black Lives Matter on my bio. I’ve gotten a lot of rude messages and most of the boys on here are trump lovers so it’s almost not even worth my time anymore.
I would really appreciate this prompt because finding someone who’s political values are similar to mine is just as important to me as finding someone who has similar religious values to me. I agree that leaving it as an open box like the mission prompt would be a good idea
This would be a super nice filter. I realize it doesn’t apply to all countries, but I do tend to use other apps more that do have a political affiliation filter.
